Position Summary: The associate is responsible for printing and/or plotting, laminating, weeding and masking on vinyl’s and various other substrates that meet or exceeds the customers’ expectations. The associate is equally responsible for knowing how to operate and maintain all equipment. Finally, the associate should work and conduct themselves in accordance to the Miller Zell organizational values and goals
POSITION COMPETENCIES: Responsibilities associated with each position are a combination of organizational-wide and department specific standards. Performance is evaluated initially during each employee’s Introductory Period using the on boarding plan and manager observation. Thereafter, competencies are assessed on an on-going basis and formally documented annually using the Annual Performance Evaluation Form.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reads, comprehends, and compares information on the job ticket, blueprint, application instructions, cut ticket, and cut file, to make sure they are correct.
- Correctly sets up and operates plotters for the appropriate job (including: file set-up, blades/bits, cutting heads / tools, pressure/depth).
- Weeds cut sheets, and possesses, ability to hand cut vinyl and patch in vinyl.
- Applies application tape to weeded vinyl by hand or with laminator machine.
- Numbers and labels parts, when necessary.
- Trims sheets/parts to the appropriate size.
- Counts and / or kits parts and bundles and / or boxes parts accordingly.
- Assist in the receipt of inventory of banner material ink and other consumables. Obtain delivery tickets from the suppliers and account for inventory. Report low inventories to purchasing in order to ensure production supplies are in stock.
- Work closely with internal departments in order to ship all jobs on time and in the most economical manner.
- Accurately tracks and charges out materials used on material sheet with job ticket and in the system.
- Correctly sets up and operates laminator machines to apply lamination, adhesive, and / or application tape.
- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Displays excellent communication skills required in working with customers and coworkers and the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Contact Supervisor when in doubt about the operation of the equipment or when problems arise. Demonstrate a proactive attitude by researching help websites to improve workflows and quality.
- Provide quality control at designated steps on the process.
- Maintain willingness to learn new industry processes as they develop.
- Use production tools and chemicals safely and with proficiency, such as: utility knife, automated roll to roll cutter, metal straight edge, measuring tape, scissors, lighter fluid, rubbing alcohol, and other materials related to the production of grand format graphics.
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Skills/Qualifications: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information and procedures. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must manage stress appropriately; make decisions under pressure; handle multiple priorities, work alone; work in areas that are confined and/or crowded.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The incumbent may be exposed to toxins, chemicals, and extreme temperatures (30degrees F – 115 degrees F), dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, high pitched noises, or gases. The incumbent will spend approximately 75% of their time indoors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum and frequently lifting and/or carrying articles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
