Director, Sales Operations 

Role Contribution Level 9

The Director, Sales Operations is a key leader within the Commercial organization, responsible for driving sales effectiveness, ensuring accurate forecasting, and enabling profitable growth. This role works closely with Sales, Finance, Category Leadership and the Commercial Leadership Team, developing the tools, processes and insights that allow the sales organization to drive growth. This role reports to the Vice President of Commercial Excellence.  This individual will oversee sales execution, customer pricing, forecasting, reporting, and commercial planning processes while ensuring alignment to the company’s strategic objectives. The Director of Sales Operations is a thought partner to senior leadership and a hands-on operator who builds and manages the infrastructure to enable sustainable growth in the competitive snack food industry.

Your seat at the table

  • Build, lead, and develop a team of sales operations professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce the Sales Execution Playbook to ensure consistency and excellence across customer engagements.
  • Oversee CRM management to ensure accurate pipeline tracking, customer visibility, and adoption across the sales team.
  • Drive sales effectiveness initiatives, including process optimization and sales capacity modeling.
  • Build and maintain performance scorecards to measure and improve sales team productivity and results.
  • Lead financial forecasting support, collaborating with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to provide accurate projections.
  • Facilitate, develop, and report on the OPC (Operational Plan Commitment) Commercial Plan, ensuring alignment across functions.
  • Own daily/weekly/monthly sales reporting to monitor performance and provide real-time insights.
  • Develop and deliver Monthly/Quarterly Board of Directors Sales Reports, providing clear, data-driven narratives.
  • Oversee commodity pricing execution plans, ensuring raw material cost impacts are translated into customer strategies.
  • Manage pricing, bids, promotions, and trade modeling, balancing growth and margin optimization.

 

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in CPG sales, sales operations, commercial finance, or strategy (food/beverage and private label experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of trade promotions, pricing strategy, and commodity dynamics in food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in financial forecasting, CRM systems, and commercial planning.
  • Demonstrated success in building sales operations processes and infrastructure.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and influencing senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
