Job Description:Curious how labels get made at scale? Edwards Label will train you to set up, run, and dial in quality on HP Indigo digital presses.
Role Summary: Set up, run, and maintain HP digital printing equipment to produce high-quality work on schedule while meeting waste and productivity standards.
Pay: $22 to $27 per hour, based on experience
Responsibilities
Plan and set up
- Review the Job Ticket. Verify quantity, frames, repeat/footage, materials, finishing, colors, and special instructions.
- Gather and scan all required components. Confirm allocation to the job.
- If instructions or components are missing or unclear, stop and notify the Production Lead or Production Supervisor before proceeding.
Run and monitor
- Set up the press per SOPs and the Job Ticket.
- Perform make-readies and color adjustments. Run samples and secure required sign-offs before production.
- Run to the published schedule and priority list.
- Monitor quality continuously and adjust as needed to meet customer specifications.
Document and control
- Record times, footage, waste, and downtime in the iPad interface.
- Complete required QC forms and product-specific tests.
- Isolate and quarantine nonconforming material. Tag, document, and report to the Production Lead or Production Supervisor.
- Perform a complete line clearance at the end of every order to prevent intermixed product.
Maintain and improve
- Perform routine preventive maintenance. Resolve minor mechanical issues and escalate major problems to the Production Lead or Production Supervisor.
- Keep the press area clean and orderly.
- Complete required training on schedule. Share know-how to support training efforts when requested.
- Work overtime when required with prior approval. Working overtime without prior approval or repeatedly refusing scheduled overtime violates company policy.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills. Comfortable using scanners, tablets, and production software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed.
Preferred
- 6 to 12 months operating experience on HP digital presses.
- Experience with pressure-sensitive labels or flexible packaging.
- Familiarity with color management practices.
Physical Demands
- Stand and walk for most of the shift.
- Bend, reach, grasp, and handle materials and components.
- Lift and carry up to 35 lb unassisted.
- 40 lb or more lifted or moved with team assistance or mechanical aids.
- Push or pull materials on carts or pallet jacks using proper technique.
