ROLE PURPOSE: The Manager, Facilities, EHS, & Site Security is responsible for leading and overseeing the Site Safety Program, Physical Security Program, and overall Site Facilities at an FDA-regulated dietary supplement manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with all applicable state, federal, and FDA regulations while fostering a culture of safety, security, cleanliness, and operational excellence. This role has one direct report, the Facilities Manager, and is accountable for maintaining the site as a safe, secure, compliant, and efficient workplace.
MAJOR ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safety & Environmental Health
- Lead and sustain a zero-injury, zero-incident culture through effective implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, DOT, and state/local safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor site safety training programs, including equipment operation, ergonomics, safe working practices, and emergency response.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments; proactively address hazards.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, track corrective actions, and ensure follow-up to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain strong daily leadership on the floor presence to coach, train, and reinforce safe behaviors with production, logistics, and quality teams.
- Partner with on-site nursing to address New Chapter’s Occupational Health & Safety program.
Physical Security
- Lead the Site Physical Security Program to ensure the protection of employees, assets, and property.
- Oversee access control systems, security protocols, and emergency preparedness planning.
- Partner with external agencies, auditors, and corporate stakeholders to maintain compliance with security standards and certifications.
- Monitor site adherence to security procedures and manage incident investigations when necessary.
- Prepare site Physical Security Assessments to determine compliance and address vulnerabilities in the program.
- Lead the Clean Desk Audit program to safeguard company data and maintain organized, professional workspaces.
Facilities Management
- Provide leadership and direction for all site facilities operations, including building systems, utilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Implement the Facilities Work Order system to log and track facilities requests from inception to completion and closeout.
- Direct the Facilities Manager and coordinate activities related to preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and cleanliness in alignment with FDA and GMP standards.
- Ensure cost-effective management of facilities spend; identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee vendor relationships and service agreements to ensure timely, high-quality support for site operations.
- Ensure facility operations and physical spaces support productivity, employee engagement, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead housekeeping and cleanliness programs with the Facilities Manager to always maintain audit readiness.

- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and with external regulators or vendors.
- Basic Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
- Positive attitude, team-oriented mind set, and willingness to learn are required.
- Ability to strictly adhere to New Chapter and OSHA safety requirements.
ADA SPECIFICATIONS: Position requires lifting and/or carrying up to 40 pounds, and may require standing for 8 or more hours.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in safety science, engineering, industrial hygiene discipline preferred
- 5 years relevant experience
- Forklift or other powered lift equipment experience preferred
