The Maintenance Manager reports to the Executive Vice President and is responsible for the overall success of the Maintenance and Facilities Departments. The Maintenance Manager works closely with the manufacturing divisions and our Corporate Services group to troubleshoot and repair production equipment and maintain the facility. The Maintenance Manager will also be required to lead, troubleshoot, and assist in machine repair activities

Essential Job Functions

  • Planning all Maintenance and Facilities activities including prioritization of day-to-day tasks for team members long-term improvement projects, and July/December Maintenance projects.
  • Tracks and improves maintenance KPI’s including on time completion of PM’s, machine downtime, and maintenance and repairs cost.
  • Develops and uses planning tools (Excel, CMMS, Schedules, Lists) that are shared with their staff as well as internal customers.
  • Has the ability to see the “big picture” impact of Maintenance on the overall company goals and can build systems to help achieve results.
  • Comfortable working with a cross-functional group including: Production, Engineering, Quality, IT, Shipping/Receiving, and Executives within the company.
  • Administers our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including creating PM schedules, recording maintenance activities, opening/closing work orders, editing the asset list as required. 
  • Keeping CMMS up to date is crucial to the department’s success.
  • Promotes the progression of our Maintenance activities from reactive to preventative to predictive.
  • Coordinates training and development of staff.
  • Conducts monthly 1x1 meetings and annual performance evaluations of staff.
  • Conducts at least monthly meetings with their team to review company projects and goals.
  • Promotes a positive, flexible, and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Leads maintenance activities related to new projects such as running electric, water, air, coordinating with riggers, coordinating with freight companies, etc…
  • Manages the facility including HVAC, Compressed Air, Electric, Water, and Building projects.
  • Initiates lock-out, tag-out process, notifies affected associates, and works in a safe, conscientious manner.
  • Utilize diagnostic skills and troubleshooting ability to determine root cause and corrective action of equipment failures, takes action to repair equipment failures.
  • Ability to perform repairs on the following specific equipment: ball screws, spindles, CNC machine pallet changers, CNC ATC arms.
  • Ability to perform the following preventative and predictive maintenance checks: back lash, draw bar force, spindle run-out, thermal camera inspections, facility general shop safety inspection, air leak audit.
  • Ability to use PLC Ladder Logic to help diagnose machine issues.
  • Change machine parameters, data bits, keep relays and other needed items to perform some machine repair and upgrade task.


Job Classification Requirements

  • Must be mechanically inclined with some experience with machine control panels and a basic understanding of machine diagnostics
  • Ability to work with parts and service vendors – initiating calls for troubleshooting or service, parts RFQ’s, etc…
  • Open minded and willing to learn new machine types and preventative/predictive maintenance methods
  • Accepts and thrives in the ever-changing production/maintenance environment.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Folder navigation
  • Must stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
  • Lifts between 10 and 80 pounds on occasional basis
  • Quality oriented and conscious
  • Always adheres to Company safety policies
  • Requires decision making skills
  • Exhibits characteristics of a good role-model
  • Reliable with excellent attendance record
  • Requires advanced training through in-house and/or external training methods
  • Must be available to work any shift as necessary
  • Required to wear company-furnished uniforms and required personal protective equipment.
