About the Position
We are hiring a seasoned Construction Manager to lead major infrastructure programs centered on rail and tunneling systems in New York City. This long-term, full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to manage high-impact transportation projects from planning through closeout, working alongside top-tier engineering teams and public agencies. Candidates should bring deep experience in heavy civil construction, a strong command of safety and regulatory standards, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in New York City.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of construction for rail and tunnel projects, including planning, execution, and closeout.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders including engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and government agencies.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
- Enforce safety standards and environmental compliance across all job sites.
- Review and approve construction plans, change orders, and technical documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve field issues promptly.
- Manage procurement and logistics of materials and equipment.
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior leadership and clients.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on rail and tunneling projects.
- Proven track record of managing large (>$500M) infrastructure projects.
- Experience delivering projects through both traditional and alternative methods (e.g., DB, CM/GC, P3).
- Experience with industry standard project and construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, TILOS, MS Project, Bluebeam, RSMeans, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
- PMP certification (through PMI) and/or CPCM or CCM (through NCMA).
- Familiarity with MTA, Amtrak, or similar agency standards.
- Experience in commercial management roles supporting owners.
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $160k-$200k/year ($76-$96/hour). The final salary offered will be based on multiple factors and thoughtfully aligned with each candidate’s level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, geographic location, etc.
