Job Title: Banquet Lead

Starting Rate: $10.00 per hour
Reports To: Banquet Supervisor/Banquet Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

SUMMARY: Responsible for the successful follow through of banquet functions. Ensure guests have a great experience when dining and meeting at requested banquet room. Responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Must maintain a high degree of professionalism. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel; welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Responsible to follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. The position requires the ability to work flexible hours, be reliable and responsible for scheduled shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with our guests and fellow associates.
- Works closely with the Banquet Supervisor to ensure the successful completion of internal and external functions.
- Reads and follows Banquet Event Orders and room diagrams.
- Communicates with the back off house on any changes to the scheduled plan.
- Ensures banquet spaces are organized and “show ready” at all times
- Work with Banquet Supervisor in training and motivating Associates.
- Work with Banquet Supervisor in scheduling staff to meet business needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No Supervisory responsibilities but to lead other banquet staff with all Banquet events.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be 21 years of age or older. Four years related experience in assisting with Banquet Events. Experience with catering software preferred.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
detail written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is frequent and regular exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Work Permit. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
