SUMMARY: (Summary description of the primary duties and objectives of the position.) | ||||
Anixter Adult Literacy Program is seeking a volunteer to work with the Literacy Coordinator to support our deaf and hard of hearing clients. The time commitment is very flexible—an average of 2-6 hours a week, depending on interest and availability. WORK ENVIRONMENT (Expected working conditions, physical effort required & approximate amount of travel.) | ||||
Physical Demands: must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must have healthy vision/eye site. Work Environment: Office environment and Off-site meetings in public settings. Anixter Center is a social services non-profit representing people with disabilities. The Literacy Program at Anixter works with clients to improve functional literacy for employment and social situations. Travel: Must own an operating vehicle. Must travel to meetings within the Chicago metropolitan area. |
