Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area, Boise National Forest, ID, Full-Time, Seasonal (Mid-October through Mid-May)

The Winter Retail Representative position helps support a welcoming atmosphere in the retail shop by providing excellent customer service to all guests during the winter operational season. This includes proper knowledge and display of products in the retail space.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Winter Retail Representative, you will ensure guests have a positive and efficient shopping experience by providing knowledgeable guidance, maintaining product displays, and processing transactions accurately. You will contribute to the smooth operation of the retail shop and help maintain a welcoming environment for all guests.

A Day in the Life

Start your day by preparing the retail shop, stocking shelves, and reviewing current mountain conditions. Throughout the day, you will assist guests with purchases and questions, maintain organized and attractive product displays, handle cash and other payments, and support other staff as needed. By day’s end, you will leave knowing you contributed to a safe, professional, and enjoyable shopping experience for all visitors.

Essential Functions of the Job

• Ensure guests are sold the proper product.
• Assist guests with questions and/or issues.
• Handle cash and process other types of payment.
• Stay informed of mountain conditions and Bogus Basin events.
• Display products effectively and efficiently.
• Stock shelves, keeping back stock shelves full and organized to quickly re-supply.
• Maintain knowledge of all products.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward guests and staff.
• Promotes safety by following safe practices and reporting any unsafe situations.

Non-Essential Functions of the Job

• Clean and organize retail areas.
• Performs other related tasks as necessary.

Requirements

What You Bring to Bogus Basin

• Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission.
• Ability to work with people of all ages.
• Basic knowledge of skiing/snowboarding.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Employee is frequently required to stand, balance, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Ability to assist and communicate effectively with young students in a professional manner.
• Ability to perform heavy work (defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to work mid-October through mid-May.

Working Conditions

• Mostly indoor, although occasionally outdoors.
• Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
