About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Lead to oversee sanitation and line cleaning activities within our bakery operations for our day shift. This role is critical to ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will lead sanitation efforts during end-of-run, changeovers, and infrastructure cleaning, while promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead sanitation activities for crew, including end-of-run and changeover cleanups.
- Train and support line operators in executing Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Manage sanitation line release processes to ensure timely production startups and minimize re-cleaning.
- Oversee infrastructure cleaning on a 28-day cycle, including documentation and inspection.
- Maintain compliance with Ferrara Corporate policies, HACCP, SQF, CGMP, and Food Code standards.
- Support bakery-wide initiatives including 5S, G6, S7, and overall facility conditions.
- Coordinate pest control, grounds maintenance, and specialized equipment cleaning schedules.
- Collaborate with the Food Safety Manager on personnel matters including discipline and recognition.
- Ensure sanitation team training and development needs are met.
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will be someone with 5 -7 years of experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing facility. Proven strong leadership and communication skills is a must.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, be detail-oriented and have strong organizational and documentation skills.
