SIFMA is seeking a strong financial industry / public policy professional with digital assets experience. The candidate will support SIFMA’s activities related to the integration of digital assets and distributed ledger technology (DLT) into securities markets and operations.  There will be a particular focus on the modernization of regulatory frameworks to accommodate tokenized securities, payment stablecoins, and DLT applications, as well as ways that these new technologies and products can support industry processes. Responsibilities will include supporting SIFMA’s regulatory and legislative advocacy around digital asset issues with a range of government agencies and Congress; the development of industry best practices and benchmarking; and support of digital asset industry projects. Experience in securities markets, regulation, and/or operations combined with exposure to digital assets policy, operations and/or strategy is required. The candidate must have exemplary written and communication skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic qualifications. Candidates with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years plus related experience working in the financial services industry.
  • Exposure and to and experience with digital assets in a policy, operations and/or strategic capacity, ideally with a particular focus on regulated products.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory and legislative landscape affecting digital assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to quickly learn / research, assess and provide creative solutions to complex issues, as supporting SIFMA’s development of comment letters and policy recommendations on these issues will be a core responsibility.
  • Proven record of leading projects, developing, and building consensus.
  • Ability to operate with senior levels within the official sector and with our member firms, as well as third-party consultants and law firms.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to be responsive to members’ needs.

Salary range: $150,000 - $170,000
