Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading all daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure materials flow efficiently, accurately, and safely throughout the facility. This role oversees a team of shipping and receiving associates, coordinating outbound customer shipments, inbound materials, and related documentation. The Supervisor partners closely with Materials, project management, production, and logistics providers to meet customer commitments, optimize scheduling, and resolve issues. A successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who drives accountability, develops talent, and continually improves processes to support manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop the shipping and receiving team, setting clear performance expectations and addressing performance issues as needed, while partnering with HR on staffing actions such as hiring, promotions, and corrective measures.
- Oversee, schedule, and confirm all customer shipments, ensuring accuracy, compliance with specifications, and on-time delivery, while preparing and reviewing all required shipping documents including Bills of Lading, export paperwork, packing lists, photos, and customer-specific requirements.
- Manage inbound shipments by inspecting, unpacking, and verifying materials against packing slips and purchase orders, documenting and communicating any shortages, damages, or discrepancies, and coordinating directly with carriers or suppliers for resolution.
- Coordinate logistics with project management, production, and carriers to determine shipping methods, truck requirements, and schedules, while maintaining sufficient inventory of shipping materials and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor and drive compliance with all company policies, ERP procedures, and safety standards, tracking team performance against KPIs and implement process improvements to streamline operations and support manufacturing objectives.
- Document, report, and resolve performance concerns and carry out all additional duties as required to ensure departmental and organizational success.
- Hold team members accountable through established key performance indicators and targets
- Understand company policies and procedures and ensure team adheres to these
- Document and address behavior or work performance issues
- All other duties as assigned
Education & Skills Requirements:
- 5+ years of related Shipping & Receiving experience
- 2+ years of previous leadership experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience with receiving international shipments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High regard for safety standards
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
Work Environment: This position operates in a plant and manufacturing environment.
Work type & Expected hours of work: Regularly works on-site at local Paslin locations. This position is for regular, full-time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. May be required to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs.
