POSITION PURPOSE
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine building and equipment maintenance tasks in a variety of fields, including carpentry, electrical, and heating, using hand and power tools. The position is a member of the Contracts team. 

WORK HOURS

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

1. Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.  Must possess professional etiquette.
2. Performs electrical maintenance to include replacement or repair of wall switches & outlets, incandescent & fluorescent tubes and fuses.
3. Performs plumbing maintenance, such as replacement of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, and replacing toilet tank parts.
4. Makes repairs to doors and locks. 
5. Repairs damages to sheetrock walls and repaints as necessary. 
6. Replaces vinyl tile and moldings. 
7. Repairs, refurbishes, and assembles material handling and sales support equipment (i.e. pallet jacks, fans, display cases, racks, etc.).
8. Maintains required travel logs and work order documents and other paperwork as necessary. 
9. Generates parts order requests. 
10. Complies with company safety and work standards, including those related to assigned vehicle. 
11. Maintains cleanliness of assigned company vehicle. 
12. Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
13. Perform all other tasks and duties assigned.

5. Must possess valid driver’s license in good standing.
6. Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance. 
7. Ability to climb step and extension ladder. 
8. Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling; laying horizontally, climbing, and walking as needed. 
9. Demonstrate solid team play.
10. Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
11. Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice; to include weekend and Holidays.
12. Ability to engage in prolonged standing and walking. 
13. Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping and stretching.
14. Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. 
15. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE    
High School or GED equivalent preferred. One year experience in facilities maintenance required.
