Position Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchase/Procurement Ag
ent Supv (FEP023; Pay Grade: L)

Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Develops, coordinates and monitors the agency purchasing, inventory, contract and bidding process throughout the procurement cycle. Will manage purchasing card program. Plans and executes procurement strategies that are designed to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Manages category and vendor performance. Serves as a subject- matter expert.

Purchasing/Inventory Manager (FEM050; Pay Grade: M)

Manages a specialized category in Strategic Sourcing. Develops and executes procurement strategies that are designed to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost for assigned complex category(s). Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Manages the procurement division or category and vendor performance. May manage multiple categories.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires the incumbent to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with other employees.

NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Purchase/Procurement Agent Supv (FEP023; Pay Grade: L; $70,000 – $75,000)

Associate degree in accounting or business or a directly related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience in a procurement environment, which included one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; 

OR

Technical diploma in accounting or business from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of job-related experience in a procurement environment which included one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; 

OR

Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Procurement Agent 3 (FEP022) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions require Georgia Procurement Manual area-specific certification(s).

Purchasing/Inventory Manager (FEM050; Pay Grade: M;$ 73,500 - $80,000)

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional job experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management, which includes two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory role;

 OR

Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Purchasing Agent Spv (FET043) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (FEP023 or FEM050):

Preference will be given to applicants that, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

  • Obtained certification from the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) as a Georgia Certified Purchasing Manager (GCPM)
  • Obtained certification from the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) as a Georgia Certified Purchasing Card Administrator (GCPCA)
  • One year or more of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Experience managing end-to-end life cycle of Request for Proposal (RFP) from development to award.

Note: Must obtain certifications from the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) as a Georgia Certified Purchasing Manager (GCPM) within 6 months of employment if not currently held.
