What to expect:
The Senior Resource Planning Analyst plays a key role in optimizing workforce and resource planning to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This position serves as a subject matter expert within the Resource Planning team, providing advanced analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. The Senior Analyst partners with cross-functional leaders, mentors associate analysts, and drives continuous improvement in forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling practices.
How you will make an impact:
- Lead the development, analysis, and refinement of resource forecasts, capacity models, and staffing plans to meet operational and business goals.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership to support workforce optimization and cost efficiency.
- Act as a subject matter expert on resource planning tools, processes, and best practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the team.
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, HR, and other business units to align resource planning with strategic objectives.
- Monitor performance against forecast, identify variances, and recommend adjustments to improve accuracy and outcomes.
- Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to staffing, scheduling, and demand management.
- Mentor and provide guidance to analysts on the team, supporting their growth and development.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to planning processes, tools, and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations and reports to senior leadership.
What you will bring:
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Statistics, or related field, OR 3-5+ years of experience in workforce management, resource planning, financial analysis, or similar analytical role.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, SQL, and INFORM.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present insights in a clear, compelling manner.
- Proven ability to partner effectively across functions and influence decision making at multiple levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail.
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience mentoring or support the development of peers.
Location
The successful candidate is expected to live in the Chicago area. This position is Hybrid.
