Position Overview
The Director of Business Development, Limited Benefits is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Brokers, Consultants, Specialists and decision makers, with the objectives of positioning and selling BCS’s line of Supplemental Health solutions, specifically CareBasic Limited Benefits as well as determining future needs and alternative distribution channels in order to help grow the CareBasic block of business. This is a sales position responsible for creating new opportunities and producing new revenue with our partners.
This position will report to the Vice President, Business Development.
Essential Elements
- Develops relationship with Brokers, Consultants, Limited Benefit Specialists to position and sell Limited Benefit CareBasic Solution to generate sales opportunities
- Works with Underwriting on new business opportunities received to best position proposal response
- Partners with VP, Business Development, SHS Segment Head, and Account Management team
- Identifies new distribution channel partners, works with Leadership and Underwriting to vet and onboard new distributors
- Evaluates opportunities received to determine if Limited Benefit solution is appropriate fit for BCS
- Keeps track of opportunities in Salesforce
- Works with implementation team to onboard new client groups and ensure broker and client needs are being met
Requirements
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- Life and Health insurance license required
Experience
- At least five years of experience in selling group Limited Benefit Medical plans.
- At least 15 years of experience in sales in a prospecting or business development role in group insurance.
- Experience selling to large employer groups with significant variable-hour populations across various industries.
Travel Required
- 30-40% Nationwide
