Description:

The Local Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for increasing patient referrals, strengthening relationships with local schools, community organizations, and creating a strong brand presence in the local market. This role will spend 75% of time on external community initiatives and 25% managing the practice’s social media channels, ensuring alignment between in-person and digital brand engagement.

This is a growth-focused position, designed to expand new patient opportunities, improve community consistency, and elevate the practice’s reputation as the orthodontic leader in the community. The role acts as a local brand ambassador, building partnerships, attending events, and creating localized content. This role covers three Hess Orthodontic business units: Hess North, Central and South.


Essential Job Functions:


Community Engagement (75%)


· Coordinate school programs (presentations, sponsorships, contests, lunch-and-learns, career days).

· Represent the practice at community events, health fairs, sporting events, and networking opportunities.

· Organize and track ROI on sponsorships and donations.

· Develop an annual community calendar of outreach events.

· Create measurable strategies to increase new patient inquiries from referral sources and community touchpoints.

· School Partnerships: Maintain at least 4 active sponsorships per location per year 

· Active sponsorship means promoting the Hess brand in some way to the parents of the school (newsletter, car tags, folders, sporting events, PTA’s, etc.) 

· Community - Participate in 1 event or sponsorship activation per month for each of the three markets. 

· Sponsor a minimum of two little leagues per location over the calendar year 

· Event Presence & Support: Attend events in person as needed, lead / coordinate team presence at events as needed. 

· Ensure 100% of events are fully set up with branded materials, giveaways, and captured photo ops Employers 

· Execute at least 1 collaboration or event with a local business per quarter ie: large employers and health fairs, special promotion for large employers


Social Media (25%)


· Manage practice social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).

· Develop monthly content calendars aligned with orthodontic promotions, patient milestones, and community activities.

· Create engaging, HIPAA-compliant posts showcasing patient transformations, staff highlights, and events.

· Track social media analytics and engagement rates to inform strategy.

· Collaborate with clinical and front office staff to capture authentic patient stories.

· Produce and post two original photo/video content pieces per week per location 

· Ensure 50%+ of posts feature Hess team / doctor, or local faces, events, or recognizable locations

Requirements

  

Required Qualifications

· Prior experience in community relations, marketing, or event coordination (dental/healthcare experience a plus).

· Strong communication and networking skills.

· Comfort with public speaking, presentations, and community engagement.

· Familiarity with major social media platforms and content creation tools.

· Highly organized, with ability to manage multiple events and campaigns simultaneously.

Outgoing, approachable, and professional demeanor representing the practice brand.
