Sauce Utility Operator/Sanitation - 3rd Shift chez Bernatello’s Foods

Key Benefits: 

• Hourly Wage: $24, includes shift differential
• Shift Hours: 9pm to 5am

Responsibilities:

Line Production Responsibilities

• Set up sauce equipment & test run in production
• Responsible for making the sauce for end of shift and for startup in the morning
• Assist in other areas, cleaning spiral, cleaning packaging area, ect..
• Verify correct materials are being used
• Operate machines in a safe manner
• Ensure machine is operating as efficiently as possible
• Troubleshoot machinery as necessary to minimize downtime
• Tear down the machinery properly and as necessary
• Understand the pre op process of various areas and complete as necessary
• Manage changeover process for assigned area
• Train and direct machine helpers, ensure they are working safely and following policies and procedures
• Perform basic maintenance duties on machinery
• Properly dispose of all garbage, food waste, and recycling throughout the shift and document waste
• Complete all required paperwork legibly, accurately, and in a timely manner
• Work together as a team and cooperate with other employees, keeping open communication
• Assist in other areas as necessary
• Track machine up-time and down-time and manage production schedule to keep the line on track
• Train and direct machine helpers, ensure they are working safely
• Communicate issues and ideas with line lead or supervisor
• Fill in on other machines as necessary

Sauce Production Duties:

• Verify correct materials are being used
• Follows specific recipe to ensure a high-quality sauce is being made
• Understand the pre-op/shift-end process and complete as necessary
• Properly dispose of all garbage, food waste, and recycling throughout the shift, keeping everything separate for adequate documentation
• Assist in miscellaneous projects including but not limited to pre-blends of veggies
• Responsible for sanitation and verification of sanitation on sauce room equipment
• Responsible for cleaning of the case packing area as necessary
• Manage amount of sauce produced to minimize waste

Quality/Food Safety Responsibilities

• Follow all GMP, SOP, HACCP, and SQF rules
• Monitor products for quality defects and report to line lead
• Complete all required Quality documentation legibly, accurately, and in a timely manner

Safety Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work area free of hazards
• Follow all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand written or spoken English instructions
• Ability to speak and write in English
• Ability to work with pork, dairy, soy, wheat, egg, shellfish, nut products, and fish
• Ability to work individually and as a member of a team
• Ability to take measurements and do basic math calculations
• Organization and time management skills required
• Technical/mechanical skills required
