Position Summary

As a Data Analyst within the Transmission Program Management Office (TPMO) team at Oncor, you’ll provide both broad and detailed data analysis to multiple departments within our organization to support business process and decision making. This role assists with developing and maintaining both tactical and performance-based dashboards to support various stakeholders across the organization. This role also supports the PMO through process improvement initiatives, providing data for reoccurring reporting and ad hoc analysis support on an as needed basis.

The primary responsibilities of the TPMO are project coordination, scheduling and resourcing oversight, budget forecasting, information streamlining, and internal/external reporting. TPMO holds responsibility for strategic long-range planning, monitoring and risk/issue management of the Transmission portfolio of capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in building and generating reporting and dashboards to support the PMO and ensure successful execution of the capital plan. 
  • Seeks opportunities to turn complex data into clear, impactful insights; able to clearly present findings to various levels of leadership
  • Works directly with business partners to improve processes and resolve operational challenges through requirements gathering and solutioning.
  • Performs frequent ad hoc data mining, reporting and generation of decision support data and presentation.
  • Perform all essential functions and aspects of the job including any other specific job requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to write new and understand existing SQL queries utilizing various systems.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data cleansing and data visualization; Proficient in Tableau.
  • A self-starter who is capable of solving problems through stakeholder collaboration and critical thinking.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant work-related experience is required.
  • Will consider applicants with Bachelor’s in Information Technology (IT), Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Project Management (PM) and 1+ years of relevant work-related experience in lieu of above criteria.
  • Applicants with data analytics related certifications encouraged to apply.

Measure of Success:

  • Accurate and timely reporting and dashboards.
  • Able to handle and provide timely progress reports on multiple concurrent projects with ease. 
  • Providing solutions to stakeholders that streamlines and builds efficiency in processes and aids in intelligent decision making.
