Summary of Position:

As the Project Architect, supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will be responsible for designing and managing architectural projects from conception to completion. You will apply your experience in field observation, building materials, specifications, construction techniques with building codes, and zoning. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, he/she will be coordinating with MEP, Site/Civil and Structural Engineers, as well as Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of architectural construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes Design Strategy in design of stores. Provides clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to internal designers and internal/external consultants. Identifies exceptions, proposes and implements design solutions. 
  • Contributes to market team goals by achieving target deliverables on number of stores and meeting all established deadlines. 
  • Designs stores within parameters of individual store budgets and market requirements with alignment from cross-functional teams.
  • Develops design documentation to support design intent per regional guidelines including schematic drawings and finish palettes.
  • Manages the production of construction documents by internal and external designers and consultants. Responsible for the integrity and quality of the construction documents inclusive of design intent, detailing, code requirements, scheduling and MEPs.
  • Participates in the architectural design process by reviewing and analyzing project documentation.
  • Sets schedules with alignment from cross-functional teams. Communicates dates to project team and meets all established deadlines. Conducts site visits as needed. 
  • Participates in schematic reviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Mentors other more junior designers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture preferred
  • Registered Architect in good standing required, NCARB preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on all phases of architectural design, production and delivery and management
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel and Revit - 3D rendering knowledge is a plus
  • Site Planning experience and strong design skills
  • Experience in a variety of projects (i.e. retail, commercial, industrial, multi-family, and mixed-use)
  • Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills

This is a hybrid role based out of our Roseville, CA; Kent, WA office.
