Responsibilities
The Assistant Vice President will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for various private partnerships and accounts within the Global Private Debt business, as well as reporting to clients and the portfolio group, and collaborating closely across our team and managing credit facility and or subline facility reporting for certain funds. Effective communication and collaboration skills are critical to success in this position. Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and maintenance of the books and records of pooled private investment funds organized as limited partnerships and/or separate accounts.
- Work in partnership with the investment team, Deal and Cash operations teams regarding cash management for fund(s).
- Work in partnership with investment professionals in monitoring portfolio’s impact on fund performance, as applicable.
- Review investment transaction bookings, including purchases, sales, corporate actions and other investment activities.
- Analyze cash and liquidity needs of fund(s); prepare proposals for capital calls, distributions, and borrowing needs based on upcoming cash flow requirements and fund disbursements.
- Collaborate with partners across Tax, Valuation, Compliance, Client Services, Corporate Accounting, and Reporting & Performance groups.
- Monitor and recommend FX hedging; work with the Treasury team to execute FX trades and ensure best practices for adhering to reporting obligations.
- Oversee the monthly closing process for the fund(s); which includes calculating management and incentive fees and reviewing accruals and reconciliations based on terms of the governing documents.
- Review and or prepare capital activity including capital calls, distributions, subscriptions and redemptions.
- Partnering with our corporate actions team in reviewing and accounting for complex corporate actions
- Preparation and/or review of allocations of income and expense allocations to each partner, including updating of distribution waterfall based on the terms of the governing documents
- Review and/or prepare quarterly and annual financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Preparing and reviewing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to clients
- Analyzing and calculating performance metrics
- Coordinating with independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers and fund administrators
- Participate in firm initiatives and/or special projects as needed to drive innovation and efficiency in fund accounting
- Performing other tasks as required
Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant accounting or audit experience. Big Four public accounting background is preferred.
- Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
- Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor, accounting systems and Markit WSO/SS&C (notice portal) is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CA preferred.
