A Day in the Life

We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Marketing Manager to join our inclusive and collaborative Diabetes team at Medtronic, recognised as a Great Place to Work in Australia.

Based in Macquarie Park, you will be responsible for shaping and leading Medtronic Diabetes’ patient engagement and marketing strategy in Australia. This role will set new strategic direction in a highly competitive environment, ensuring Medtronic remains the partner of choice for people living with diabetes. By combining deep patient insights with innovative marketing execution, the Patient Marketing Manager will drive awareness, education, and sustained therapy adoption.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Directs the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s)

  • Leads and coordinates product planning, product launches, product management, market development and market research activities

  • Interacts directly with product managers to identify new marketing opportunities

  • Works individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion

  • Identifies unmet customer requirements and new business opportunities and provides vision and focus to move products from idea to marketplace

  • Facilitates and coordinates marketing activities with geographic areas to increase teamwork and build partnerships

  • Responsibilities may also include: coordinating trade show activities, website development, developing future e-commerce strategies, and tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions

  • Develops program marketing plan including strategies, objectives, tactics and budget.

  • Conducts market analyses to maintain an appropriate level of understanding of health care financing, organisation, systems and standards for care delivery to support program marketing plans

  • Initiates market research regarding economics of care delivery

  • Establishes and executes promotional strategies required to support program marketing plan

  • Develops and maintains relationships with health system customers to understand customer needs

  • Also develops and maintains relationships with internal business unit, marketing and sales staff to develop and execute the program marketing plan

Required Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experiences, or minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience with an advanced degree

  • Experience in medical devices or healthcare sector

  • Experience setting strategy, budget and product launches/plans

  • Strong team engagement excellence

  • Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines

  • Excellent presentation & project management skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of software
