Job Title: Lead I/T Teacher Department: Childcare
Reports to: CC Center Director Effective Date: September 19, 2025
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm Remote Position: No
Job Summary:
Manage ongoing programming with the Infant and Toddler areas in a professional/confidential manner which incorporates the culturally sensitive, developmental philosophy of the Center and creates an inclusive learning environment to ensure the very highest quality of care for children and families. Meet compliance with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards and Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC), and Massachusetts health and safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff (in the program area) in a supportive manner; encourage positive, effective communication among staff; conduct 90-day performance evaluations; plan meetings with team members
- Conduct monthly classroom and staff observation on educators.
- Maintain staff and children’s records.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum where children can learn and grow at their own pace, interact comfortably with adults, and have the opportunity to participate in individual and group [small and large] activities as appropriate to program area.
- Develop good relationships with parents utilizing open and consistent communication, planned activities, and schedule parent conferences to learn from parents so we can be better informed about their child’s strengths, needs, behaviors and learning styles.
- Work with Director in working with families who are in need of intervention by communicating unbiased and available information ensuring all materials and communications are clear, concise, and accessible to parents.
- Notify the Director and parents of any contagious illness contracted by a child enrolled in the program.
- Review assessment reports on each child using teaching strategies, and maintain records for children, staff, and program per DEEC licensing, and NAEYC requirements.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and managing purchasing for program area, including petty cash.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings; maintain Health and Safety, CPR and First Aid certification; complete 20 hours of training each year as required by DEEC; follow Individual Professional Development Plan.
- Maintain NAEYC quality standard in classrooms.
- Review NAEYC classroom portfolios as needed to keep updated
- Maintain student/teacher ratios at all times.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications

- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Prioritizing and understanding diverse perspectives, actively listening and using respectful, and clear language.
- Ability to work with families and children from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to relate with co-workers and parents in a cooperative/positive manner
- Solid computer skills
Education and Experience:
- Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher DEEC qualified required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the classroom.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
- Run or move quickly to respond to emergency situations
- Requires good physical stamina and agility
