Irving Pulp & Paper is seeking a Process Engineer for our operation in Saint John, NB. Day to day, you will work closely with the production departments to improve on processes, and environmental and quality related initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting , process analyses, optimization, information and improvement support to the mill operations group

  • Lead mill investigations, trials, and improvement projects through analyzing process trends, interpreting data and proposing solutions

  • Coaching operators and supervisors on process changes all while adhering to and promoting safe work practices

  • Think out of the box and constantly search for continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering 

  • 2-5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial environment is an asset

  • Well-developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously 

  • Understands and can demonstrate analytical problem solving and decision making 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Curious, persistent problem solver with natural tendency to ask questions 

  • Mechanically inclined with ability to figure out how things work 

  • Strong focus on safety and process improvement 

  • Able to display evidence of leadership skills from previous experience. 

  • Possesses drive, initiative and works well in cross functional teams
