Finance Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in finance and accounting, as the role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of finance functions.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake a finance apprenticeship, gaining professional qualifications alongside valuable workplace experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Team with day-to-day operations, including:

· Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices and supplier payments.

· Assisting with banking activities and reconciliations.

· Preparing and processing payment runs in line with company deadlines.

· Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns.

· Processing and reconciling employee expenses in line with company policy.

· Assisting with the annual stock take and related financial reporting.

· Providing general support to the Finance Team, including ad-hoc administrative and accounting tasks

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and eager to build a career in finance and willing to conplete professional qualification. The ideal candidate will have:

· A willingness to undertake a finance qualification (full training will be provided).

· Good numeracy and IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Excel and other office applications.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Good organisational and time-management skills.

· A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

On-Site, Location: Dukesway Team Valley 
This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Gateshead, UK. You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
