$68,640 - $75,924 per year depending on experience
Summary
The Consumer Lending Underwriting Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the underwriters in Consumer Lending. They are to organize and supervise the day-to-day functions of the underwriters for accuracy, efficiency to optimize productivity.
Essential Functions
1. Schedule, evaluate, train, supervise and delegate workflows.
2. Review in-house procedures and recommend updates to improve efficiency.
3. Prepare monthly reports for senior management.
4. Monitor new loans for compliance with current loan policy.
5. Monitor underwriter’s assigned duties for quality control, accuracy, production, and efficiencies.
6. Perform on going audits.
7. Actively identify cross-sale opportunities on consumer loan applications reviewed.
8. Approximant working time is spent as follows:
· 60% Supervise the underwriters.
· 30% Review underwriter loan decisions for quality.
· 5% Underwrite loans on occasions when the volume or staffing requires.
· 5% Review department reports.
9. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and/or in writing and present in an effective manner.
2. Ability to provide guidance and training to consumer lending staff.
3. Possess a high degree of organizational skills
4. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and, at times, conflicting deadlines.
5. Ability to prioritize work and handle special projects as assigned by management.
6. Ability to self-motivate and flexible to work.
7. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Education and Experience
1. Five years of lending experience with a preferred focused in consumer underwriting.
2. Must have a strong working knowledge of consumer lending practices and procedures, including, but not limited to; auto loans, RV loans, personal loans, credit cards and lines of credit.
3. Possess a comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations as they relate to consumer lending.
