Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Security Professional that will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the success of SRNL. The security professional will work directly with facilities, operations, and researchers. They must be flexible and innovative in developing plans and procedures for implementation.
Responsibilities
This position is an individual contributor to the SRNL Safeguards and Security organization which provides company Policy, Plans, Procedures and Technical support designed to protect DOE security interests. The incumbent may be responsible for one or more of the major responsibilities addressed below during the assignment.
- Provide guidance for the protection of DOE security interests including: Special Nuclear Material (SNM), vital equipment, classified matter and Government Property.
- Conduct Self Assessments, which documents the current status of compliance and/or noncompliance with DOE directives requirements, contains the official proposed implementation plan for DOE directives specifically requiring the development of such plans, and includes other necessary formal requests for DOE approval for identified DOE directives noncompliance.
- Provides S&S planning documents to ensure that protective measures are commensurate with security interests.
- Research information, review and verify accuracy of data, formulate plan and coordinate concurrence, classify, distribute, review annually, and update as required facility S&S documents ie: Facility Data Approval Records, Facility Security Plans, Modified Security Plans, Memorandum of Understanding, Deviations (Variances, Waivers, and Exceptions), Start up Plans, D&D Plans.
- Serve as physical security point of contact for supporting:
- Vulnerability Assessments and Risk Assessments. Analyze existing and future postures for potential cost savings.
- Provide Liaison and coordination activities with protective force to include Zone Operations, Special Operations, Law Enforcement and Planning
- Assist in resolving requests for protective force assistance.
- Serve as facility liaison for security matters. Act as S&S point of contact for work requests/site work clearances and monitor the nature of the work to ensure compliance with security aspects of the work.
- Act as Security Point of Contact for SROO S&S Surveys, Office of Security Evaluations Inspections and Evaluations, Office of Safeguards & Security Readiness Reviews and Internal Audits.
- Initiate and follow up on S&S corrective actions, coordinate compensatory measures with protective force, provide response (corrective action control plans) and track/influence progress for all deficiencies, report status of all corrective actions until closure. Serve as the Inquiry Official for Incidents of Security Concern.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA with at least 7 years of demonstrated knowledge or experience working with nuclear materials, security programs, and DOE requirements.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business or Criminal Justice with a demonstrated knowledge or experience working with nuclear materials, security programs and DOE requirements.
