About the Department
Position Duties
- Obtain training through a train the trainer program with County selected vendor
- Assists the administrator with the development and deployment of instructional classroom and laboratory sessions to provide technical classroom and lab experience to all students in the program
- Assists the administrator with conducting assessments for referred and vetted individuals on technical assessments, as needed
- Conducts daily classroom, lab, and equipment inspections to ensure all hardware and equipment remain in good working order
- Practice and maintain all safety requirements in the class in order to ensure student safety and to adhere to all OSHA safety standards, practices, and procedures
- Facilitate the application of safety rules, regulations, and work practices
- Implement lean manufacturing discipline in maintenance, machine reliability, and problem solving
- Apply principles and procedures of record keeping
- Ensure all required training is completed with proper training record usage
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in training to management in a timely manner
- Analyze and measure success of students throughout training program
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or closely related field, and five (5) years' experience in Advanced Manufacturing and one (1) year supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Abundant understanding, knowledge of principles and practices required to operate, maintain and troubleshoot an advanced manufacturing facility.
- Highly skilled in advanced manufacturing disciplines: electrical-mechanical, fluid power, programmable logic controls, robotics;
- Skilled in lean manufacturing discipline in maintenance, machine reliability, and problem solving
- Excellent skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing; must be familiar with computers and applicable software; must possess strong technical mathematical capability
- Must have strong interpersonal, mentoring, training and presentation skills;
- Must demonstrate ability to write, train and audit standardized work; ability to train and mentor individuals using standardized methods and multimedia curriculum; and demonstrate safety awareness of self and others
- Must bring real work examples into learning environment
- Must practice and teach workplace organization
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- May be required to work weekends and evenings
- Constantly working in indoor conditions
- Occasionally moves items weighing between 40-50 pounds
- Occasionally moves about the office
- Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Constantly operates a computer; and, other table-top productivity machinery
- Positions self to perform essential functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
