POSITION SUMMARY:

You will be an essential part of the Rec Center at Wisteria Team, reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations at Wisteria. You’ll provide our guests with exceptional, safe service by performing different roles throughout the day, dependent on the needs of the center.
You will be a key leader within the Rec Center at Wisteria Team – As Recreation Center Supervisor, you’ll support day-to-day operations by leading associates, ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and stepping into different roles throughout the day, depending on the needs of the center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Center Attendant: You will be responsible for ensuring the recreation center remains clean, safe, and welcoming to guests by setting a positive example and assisting team members when necessary.
- Supervise and support associates to provide a welcoming experience.
- Lead by example by upholding high cleanliness standards and ensuring associates follow proper cleaning protocols.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary gym environment, performing regular deep cleans of workout areas, equipment, bathrooms, locker rooms, pool house, and common spaces.
- Conduct daily cleaning tasks, including wiping down machines, vacuuming floors, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking cleaning supplies.
- Perform regular equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs and report or resolve issues.
- Oversee equipment, supplies, handling procedures, and restocking.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Ensure cleaning schedules are followed, and storage areas remain organized.
- Assist in training new team members on proper cleaning techniques and facility procedures.
- Uphold and enforce gym rules and policies, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all members.
Welcome Desk: As the supervisor, you will oversee daily operations for the welcome desk, ensuring all procedures are completed to standard while coaching and supporting team members.
- Greet each guest warmly and genuinely and offer assistance.
- Lead, train, and support associates in registration, guest relations, and sales processes.
- Ensure documentation is accurately and efficiently completed, and payments are executed appropriately.
- Monitor Point of Sales transactions for accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee cash handling, financial reporting, documentation, and cash drops.
- Address and resolve member issues with professionalism and empathy, escalating as necessary.
- Receive and verify delivery orders and invoices.
- Oversee and verify that opening and closing checklists are executed precisely.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact when management is unavailable, helping resolve minor issues and escalating concerns as needed.
Fitness Instructor:
- Facilitate and lead a minimum of 5–7 evidenced-based group fitness classes per week.
- Partner with leadership to enhance and expand the fitness program, aligning offerings with member needs and industry trends.
- Support associates in meeting class requirements and tailoring experiences to participants’ needs.
- Maintain certification requirements and model industry standards.
- Be knowledgeable of safe weightlifting techniques, equipment usage, and spotting, and ensure associates can assist guests accordingly.
- Lead or assist in the planning and execution of Team Nemacolin events aimed at promoting associate morale, engagement, and a positive workplace culture.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Leadership mindset with the ability to supervise, coach, and motivate a team.
- A respectful, inclusive, people-centered, solution-oriented approach.
- Strong guest service skills and the ability to make people feel welcomed.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to serve as a first responder in emergency situations and follow emergency protocols.
- Current Les Mills Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Current NASM, ISSA, or ACE Certification preferred but not required.
- Ability and desire to work in all areas of the center, as needed.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while delegating effectively.
- Ability to resolve conflict and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities.
- Strong communication and technology navigation skills.
- Flexibility regarding work schedule, including evenings/nights, early mornings, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed.
