Pay is based on location, experience, and qualifications etc.

 

BASIC FUNCTION: The Regional Director of Sales is responsible for coordinating and participating in the direct sales effort in the group, corporate, leisure and travel market and catering/social events for the properties assigned to the region.  Responsible for the forecasts and budgets of the sales department for the region. 

Qualifications:  Education, Knowledge, Training, & Work Experience:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Must have excellent supervisory skills and have managed a sales team.
  • Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.
  • Extensive skill in development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff.
  • Ability to travel 35% of the time.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for sales initiatives across designated properties and regional markets.
  • Conduct onsite visits to properties to guide sales direction and execution, ensuring alignment with performance goals and regional targets.
  • Direct all facets of the sales effort to meet or exceed budgeted revenue and department profits for assigned properties and region.
  • Develop and implement the annual sales and marketing plan, monitoring all programs for measurement against desired results.
  • Develop and manage the annual sales budget to achieve revenue targets in a cost-effective model.
  • Create sales strategies toward the most lucrative market segment in the group rooms’ marketplace.
  • Direct all facets of the leisure marketplace.
  • Work in together with the Revenue Director/s to establish pricing and yield management execution to maximize rate and occupancy with varying supply and demand conditions.
  • Work with Finance department in all related forecasting of revenue outlooks.
  • Establish group sales goal, forecasting group room nights and group room revenues, budgeting and management of the group sales effort.
  • Establish the F.I.T. sales goals, forecasting F.I.T. revenues and budgeting.
  • Direct the sales and administrative effort on a day-to-day basis in accordance with objectives outlined in the Marketing Plan.
  • Oversee the sales and marketing events for all catering and social business.
  • Assisting, coaching, training, motivating and counseling of all Sales Directors and sales staff for assigned properties and region.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations of changes which would affect operations.
  • Coordinate direct sales activities including road shows, blitzes, group promotions and familiarization trips.
  • Set-up and conduct site inspections for properties within the region.
  • Prepare all monthly reports on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Be knowledgeable and use in room and space bookings for brands (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, etc).
  • Design, implement and monitor the sales strategy toward key target markets to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Assume interim sales leadership responsibilities onsite during vacancies in key leadership roles to ensure continuity and strategic direction.
  • Deliver comprehensive presentations of market trends and hotel sales performance data to ownership stakeholders, supporting informed strategic decisions.
  • Recruiting and training new associates.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Will perform additional duties as requested by Management.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Peregrine from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. 
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
