What You’ll Do:
- Become a process expert for the FGR Coating and Mixing Teams, strongly contributing to your team to safely reach the departmental goals
- Be a root cause problem solver with/for the team
- Evaluate and optimize existing methods, processes, workflows, and equipment to find improvement prospects mainly in the areas of quality, uptime, and cost.
- Includes time studies, trend building, correlations, histograms…
- Identify effective improvements and solutions, both grassroots and technological in nature
- Lead the resulting project(s) through the processes of design, approval (cost and safety), implementation and validation
- Work cross functionally with other departments, other engineers, vendors, and management for larger projects
- Develop supporting technical documentation such as procedures, work instructions, flowcharts, forms, P&IDS, reports etc.
- Lead all new product and formulation Introductions across coating and mixing departments
- Train team members on new equipment and processes
What We’re Looking For:
REQUIRED:
- BS in an engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years related continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong skills in MS EXCEL and/or other software applications for data analysis
- Capable of working flexible hours to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operation when required to meet deadlines
PREFERRED:
- Thin film or paper web coating operations experience or other experience in a high speed, rotating equipment environment
- Experience in chemical mixing/blending operations
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, HAZWOPER, and ISO14001
- Working knowledge of SPC
The hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
