Job Title: Environmental Services Associate
Department: Operations
Supervisor: Facility Manager
Location: Working at all locations
Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Synopsis:            
 We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Associate to join La Clinica’s operation’s team. The Environmental Services Associate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards within the facility to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding high-quality standards of cleanliness.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
 - Previous experience in environmental services, janitorial services, or housekeeping preferred, especially in a healthcare setting.
 - Knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control practices, and safety procedures.
 - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
 - Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
 - Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
 - Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
 - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
 - Preferred Education and Experience:
 - Experience in building management.
 - Bilingual (English & Spanish)
 - Basic computer knowledge
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. General Cleaning Tasks:
- Dusting surfaces
 - Vacuuming or mopping floors
 - Cleaning windows and glass surfaces
 - Emptying trash bins
 - Wiping down surfaces and countertops
 
2. Restroom Cleaning:
- Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks, and faucets
 - Restocking toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap
 - Sweeping and mopping floors
 
3. Kitchen or Breakroom Cleaning:
- Wiping down countertops
 - Cleaning microwave, refrigerator, and other appliances
 - Washing dishes or loading/unloading dishwasher
 - Cleaning coffee makers or other equipment
 
4. Specialized Cleaning Tasks (as needed):
- Carpet cleaning
 - Polishing surfaces
 - High dusting or cleaning ceiling fixtures
 - Disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs and light switches
 
5. Additional Tasks:
- Reporting any maintenance issues or supply needs
 - Organizing supply closets or storage areas
 - Adhering to any specific cleaning protocols or guidelines provided by the supervisor.
 - Collect and dispose of regular and biohazardous waste in accordance with safety and infection control guidelines.
 - Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
 - Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations and other privacy requirements.
 - Assist in setting up space for internal meetings that may include ordering food and beverages and cleaning up after the meeting closes.
 - Perform other related duties as assigned.
 - Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
 
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
 - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
 - Flexible to start early in the day or work nights.
