Professional Engineer or Registered Architect chez CTLGroup

Position Overview:

• We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect with deep expertise in building envelope systems and façade design to join our team. This individual will lead investigations, design, and remediation efforts related to building envelope performance, including façades, curtain walls, roofing, and waterproofing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, project management skills, and a passion for solving complex building performance challenges.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Perform condition assessments, forensic investigations, and root cause analyses of building envelope and façade systems.
• Develop detailed repair and restoration plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Lead design efforts for new and existing envelope systems, ensuring compliance with building codes, industry standards, and sustainability goals.
• Manage projects from conception through construction, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, contractors, and building owners to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction, perform field testing, and ensure quality control.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients.
• Stay current with industry best practices, materials, and emerging technologies related to building envelopes.

Qualifications:

• PE or RA license required
• Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a closely related field (advanced degree preferred)
• 10+ years of experience
• Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) designation from New York City Department of Buildings or ability to obtain QEWI within 6 months of start
• Experience with NYC Local Law 11 Facade Inspection Safety Program preferred
• Experience with condition evaluation and repair of existing buildings and structures, especially building envelope / facade systems
• Experience with client development and project management
• Experience leading teams and/or mentoring staff

Position Title: Ranks of Senior Engineer / Architect through Senior Principal will be considered

Salary Range: $115k - $200k base salary (commensurate with the level of experience and expertise of the candidate)
