Position Duties
Greet visitors and answer incoming calls, providing information or directing inquiries to the appropriate staff or department Collect, verify, and record cash and check deposits received from various departments, issuing manual receipts as needed Review, sort, and distribute incoming mail daily, including copying and documenting checks for deposit Prepare and reconcile deposit slips, cash receipt forms, and bank documentation to ensure accurate allocation of funds Compile, seal, and document bank bags for Finance and other departmental deposits, verifying accuracy before transport Maintain accurate tracking spreadsheets for departmental deposits such as Register of Deeds, Health, and Inspections Coordinate daily deposit deliveries by transporting bank bags to the Tax Department for pickup and processing Verify deposit slips returned from the bank for completeness, validation, and accuracy Process returned checks, coordinating with departments or collection agencies for resolution Maintain subsidiary account ledgers (e.g., rent, bid deposits, commissions), record investments, and process monthly departmental billing

- Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, policies, and practices related to assigned duties
- Knowledge of payroll processes, employee benefits and leave administration, and public bookkeeping practices
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and their application within a total accounting system
- Skill in using calculating machines, adding machines, and automated systems to maintain accurate fiscal records
- Skill in making arithmetic computations with accuracy and reasonable speed
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations to financial and accounting records
- Ability to prepare accurate records, perform data entry, and maintain organized financial documentation
- Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in handling accounting and fiscal matters
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with coworkers, management, vendors, and the public
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships across departments and with external partners
