About the Role:
As a Lumper in the wholesale trade industry based in New Albany, MS, you will play a critical role in the efficient handling and processing of goods during the receiving and shipping stages. Your primary objective will be to assist in unloading and loading freight, ensuring that products are moved safely and accurately between trucks and warehouses. This position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to maintain the integrity of shipments and support warehouse operations. You will collaborate closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to facilitate smooth logistics and timely deliveries. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the overall supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring that goods are handled properly and on schedule.
Shift:
- Monday through Friday 4:00am until work is completed for the day
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and freight handling procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality with the ability to work flexible hours including early mornings or evenings as needed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a lumper or in a warehouse/logistics role.
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance in warehouse environments.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and labels.
- Certification in forklift operation or other relevant warehouse safety training.
Responsibilities:
- Unload freight from trucks, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment and manual labor.
- Sort, stack, and organize products in the warehouse or staging areas according to company guidelines.
- Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of goods received and dispatched.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents.
