Maintenance Engineer - Grounds chez Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel (AUR Hotels / AURO Hotels)

The Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel in Orlando, FL is searching for an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Grounds to join our dynamic team. Compensation is based on experience. Company benefits include health, vision, dental, PTO, 401k, employee discounts, and much more.

Essential Job Functions

• Mowing and trimming lawns, using hand or power mowers
• Applying fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers
• Watering lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems or by programming irrigation systems
• Maintaining and repairing tools, equipment, and structures such as fences, gates, or benches, using hand or power tools
• Planting and seeding new lawns, flowers, trees, and shrubs
• Pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, hedges, and grass to provide clearance for sidewalks or to remove damaged sections
• Setting up, preparing and clearing sites for events and functions
• Raking leaves, removing litter and performing composting and aerating duties
• Monitoring and maintaining the health of plants by identifying any pests or diseases and controlling these through the best practice methods available
• Conducting minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
• Install and replace landscaping lighting.
• Have minor electrical work on outlets, lighting, and speakers.
• Painting work on the exterior curbs and common areas.
• Pressure washing.
• Maintaining exterior lot signage.

Other Duties and Responsibilities 

• Complies with Company Standards of Service as outlined for AURO Hotels.
• Projects a favorable image of AURO Hotels to the public at all times.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
• Treats guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.
• Completes Departmental, AURO Hotels and Brand standards training as assigned.
• Maintains a clean and neat appearance at all times. 
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Follows all AURO, Brand and local Health and Sanitation regulations

Experience/Education
High School Diploma Preferred, Basic understanding of HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Pool Maintenance. Prior hospitality experience preferred. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
