We are looking for a Manager, Canola Seed Production to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Lethbridge, AB.

Reporting to the Head, NA Seed Supply, as part of the Leadership Team for the NA Seed Supply organization, the Manager, Canola Seed Supply, NA, will provide site leadership for the NA commercial canola seed supply activities, and ensure the leadership and execution of hybrid seed production and seed cleaning/conditioning for the NA market. The role will include responsibilities for hybrid canola seed production in all regions (NA and Contra-Season), also responsibility for seed production research, seed supply planning, inventory management and hybrid grower/pollinator contract management, commercial seed quality management, seed cleaning/conditioning and associated financial administration.

- Ensuring a safe working environment (employee and environment) is in place for our seed production team.
- Ensuring the sustainable production of seed to support $750 MM of direct seed sales by ensuring a strong production team that is appropriately directed and resourced to achieve success.
- Ensuring the seed supply function operates a strong demand and supply planning program, that operates with strong collaboration and transparency with all stakeholders, to ensure we optimize sales opportunities and minimize inventory costs.
- Providing leadership of the quality management team and QM processes and systems.
- Providing leadership of the Lethbridge Seed Supply site, ensuring that the various functions closely collaborate to support the canola seed supply objectives.
- Participating in the NA regional seed supply leadership team, representing the canola crop and contributing to the Seed supply team in its’ direction and leadership of the NA seed supply activities.
If you have...
- A BSc in the physical sciences and/or in Agriculture, Soil Sciences, Agronomy or related disciplines.
- 10 years of experience in Seed production (including demand and supply planning).
- 10 years demonstrated experience and success in people leadership and development.
- Experience in working with industry groups, including ongoing participation in various seeds related committees.
- Experience with seed standards and regulations.
- Experience with various internal and external seed and trait regulatory and stewardship regulations.
- Strong technical skills specific to seed production.
- Demonstrated skills in all forms of communication, will demonstrate the ability to effectively listen and tell, and has demonstrated experience in speaking in group settings.
- Demonstrated strong collaboration skills with all internal and external stakeholders.
