The E. Ethel Little Elementary School has an anticipated opening for a Title 1 Mathematics Tutor starting in the 2025-2026 school year. In this role you will work under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning and Building Principal to provide support in mathematics for students in grades 1-5. The tutor supports each student in the acquisition of basic mathematical skills and an understanding of the structure of mathematics, and motivates each student to apply mathematical understanding and skills in the solution of practical problems.
This position is a part-time, temporary position of approximately 12-14 hours per week for 35 weeks.
Essential duties
- Tutor in mathematics during the instructional hours of the school day
- Document, collect data, and progress monitoring of student achievement
- Utilize appropriate technology to aid students in the acquisition of knowledge, skill, and understanding
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent, Building Principal, and/or their Designee
Requirements
- Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary, grade 1-6
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree preferred
- Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults
- Knowledge of the Eureka and I-Ready instructional program and familiarity with current Mathematics frameworks preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
