Compensation Range:

$21.36 - $29.90

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for attracting, encouraging and admitting of individuals to the University who meet the standards set by University policy. Assists in the recruiting, application and evaluation process. Develops the knowledge of the University and its range of available opportunities. Counsels/advises students, prospective students and parents on matters of admissions. Advises prospective and continuing students on how to apply for admission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Interviews applicants throughout the year.
  • Reviews and evaluates all types of applications for admission.
  • Serves as a voting member of the Committee on Admissions.
  • Provides guidance and academic and career counseling to high school and college students.
  • Visits public and private secondary schools to discuss the University with, and interpreting the University, to interested students, parents, and guidance personnel.
  • Represents the University at College Nights and College Conferences, addressing groups of students, parents, and guidance personnel.
  • Coordinates visits with alumni and other volunteers in travel area.
  • Responds to telephone and written inquiries from prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors regarding specifics of University programs and policies.
  • Participates in special on-campus functions for prospective students, parents, and counselors, such as prospective student receptions and counselor programs.
  • Develops and maintains current knowledge of financial aid to inform students, parents, and counselors.
  • Serves as liaison between the Admissions Office and the academic advisors of each college for the purpose of departmental review of advanced-standing applications and review and readmission of applicants.
  • May assign work, special projects, and applications procedures to clerical support staff.
  • Assists in the direction of student volunteers in various Admissions Office programs.
  • Keeps superiors and staff informed of applications filed, actions taken, and admission deposits paid for assigned travel area.
  • Prepares strategic plan for travel areas and program responsibilities.
  • Assists in preparing the annual report of undergraduate admissions actions, assembling outputs, and distributing to appropriate staff members.
  • Assists in analyzing reports and preparing studies and data for other offices, departments, and outside organizations.
  • Assists in updating, revising, and maintaining mailing lists used by the office.
  • Assists in interviewing candidates for employment in the office.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-year of relevant experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
