Nurse Supervisor Medical Surgical chez Henry County Medical Center

Description

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care administered to meet patient care needs.   Under the direction of the Manager, responsible for routine daily operations of assigned unit.  Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing required.  Additional educational preparation in administrative techniques is desirable.

Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the nursing profession as normally acquired through the completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing.

EXPERIENCE:  

At least 2 years continuous, current hospital nursing experience preferred

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:

Current license as a Registered Nurse as approved by the State Board of Nursing verifying eligibility to practice in the State of Tennessee

Responsible for Continuing Education Units annually

BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment, and certification must be kept current while in this position

ACLS certification preferred

Certification in area of clinical expertise by recognized authoritative agency desirable.

Additional certifications/competencies may be required at department discretion.
