ROLE SUMMARY:
El Colegio Británico en Madrid (The British School) is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of History to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students (ages 11–16), following the UK National Curriculum, including IGCSE History.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the UK curriculum
Prepare students for IGCSE History exams, including effective assessment and feedback
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental planning
Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and school events as required
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
We accept both UK and Spanish teaching qualifications
Proven experience or strong understanding of the UK curriculum, including IGCSE History
Ability to inspire and motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4
High level of English (spoken and written) is essential
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Eligible to work in Spain
