Job Description

The AD Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of aeroderivative Gas Turbine components—including combustion chambers, fuel nozzles, blades, vanes, buckets, spools, seals, and more. This role supports Baker Hughes’ Supply Chain and Gas Technology Services (GTS) in delivering optimized and reliable aeroderivative service solutions. The engineer will drive product enhancements, manage redesign initiatives, and ensure robust engineering dispositions across the component lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end mechanical design activities, from concept development to validation, including CAD modeling, drafting, and stress/thermal analysis.
  • Support component qualification through laboratory testing and field performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with aero and mechanical teams to ensure cohesive and integrated design execution.
  • Coordinate global engineering teams and facilitate cross-functional technical discussions.
  • Manage outsourced engineering tasks and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) activities.
  • Provide manufacturing and supply chain support, streamlining engineering dispositions and issue resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement and lead risk-based evaluations and mitigation planning.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation for internal reviews, design approvals, and project milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in industrial Gas Turbine design.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design of Gas Turbine components.
  • Strong system engineering mindset with deep understanding of product configurations and development processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and structural/thermal analysis methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry standards/regulations.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
