Looking for an AVP in Alternative Investment Services with hands on experience on Private Equity, Hedge Fund portfolio valuations. The incumbent would be responsible to manage and handle a large team and would report into an AVP-2 or a VP.
Primary Responsibilities & Skill Sets :
To independently lead and manage an Alternatives Investment Services team primarily responsible for end-to-end accounting and valuations of Private Equity & Hedge Funds for Limited Partners.
The incumbent should be self-motivated, self-driven.
Should be able to keep his team motivated and upbeat to consistently achieve flawless delivery.
Operational Skill sets
- Should have an overall 10+ years of experience into Alternative ops., Out of which 8+ years should be a team management experience in a Managerial or Leadership role.
- Would be responsible to manage an AIS team of 25+ FTE’s with relentless focus on meeting the banks SLA’s with regards to quality and timeliness with the clients.
- Responsible for continuous process improvements for existing AIS processes, functions and clients.
- Required to work closely with global teams in a large and complex organization under direct and hybrid reporting.
- Act as a point of contact for client issues, queries and escalations.
- Expected to participate and provide solutions on Client Calls along with other internal State Street teams like Client Services and Client Relationship.
- Ensure that all the process SOP’s are updated and maintained as per the formats and standards prescribed by business risk team.
Functional Skill set :
- Strong analytical skill with ability to manipulate large set of data related to fetching PCAP’s, Notices, LOD’s from GP / IM portals or track them through emails for hefty volumes.
- Perform end-to-end accounting and valuations of Private Equity & Hedge Funds and sign-off daily / monthly valuations and NAV’s for hedge and PE funds for LP clients.
- Should have ability and knowledge to interpret the PCAP’s, ILPA’s, Notices & LOD’s book capital activities / cash flows accordingly.
- Track, review and get the AIS coded cash breaks resolved by following up with relevant teams within 30 days of aging.
- Ensure that team performs tolerance and validation checks before sign-off’s.
- Should have 10+ years of work experience and understanding of Alternative Investments like Hedge, Private Equities and other Alternative Investment products.
- Should possess good understanding of accounting as per US GAAP or IFRS.
- Should have a good knowledge and understanding of overall asset classes traded over exchange in primary & secondary markets and OTC.
Risk Management :
- Should adhere to all the internal process controls established in conjunction with BRM team for operational effectiveness.
- Should be able to continuously assess operational risks and update control gaps.
- Should be able to evaluate and remediate Operational Incidents informed internally or externally.
- Should support and ensure compliance with regards to internal and external audits.
Educational Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree into Accounting or Financial Management.
- ACCA / CMA certifications or Masters would be an added advantage but not a necessity.
