Sacred Circle Healthcare is seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian.

Job Summary

General Summary of Duties: Responsible for the delivery and promotion of nutrition care to patients. Ability to apply the science and art of human nutrition to promote health and aid in the treatment of disease or injuries to restore health.

To Be Determined with the availability of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required depending on position requirements.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks: 

  • Assesses patients to determine nutritional and dietary needs.
  • Identifies medical goals and develops nutritional plans to help patients improve their help.
  • Works with patients to teach healthy eating habits, encourage program adherence.
  • Develops customized diets for cultural, religious, and/or income-restricted individuals.
  • Integrates medical nutrition therapy with complex disease states. 
  • Provides effective assessments of patient’s nutritional needs and appropriate patient care planning through effective communication with physicians, medical staff, families, and other allied health professionals.
  • Keeps accurate patient records of history and activities regarding patient care while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Keeps abreast of advancements in nutrition.
  • Complies with all applicable state/federal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Participates in professional development activities.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all Sacred Circle Health Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements.

Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION: 

Bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: 

1 or more years working as a Registered Dietitian

CERTIFICATION/

LICENSE:

  • Current Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Current State Certified Dietitian
  • CPR certified

Experience working with the Native American community.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:  

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for delivery of care.
  • Knowledge of relevant nutrition care and ability to instruct patient in dietary needs. 
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives. 
  • Ability to use computer systems and applications. 
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. 
  • Ability to plan and organize. 
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures. 
  • Ability to operate office equipment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinical and administrative staff, and the public. 
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
