JOB SUMMARY: 

Oversee psychiatric prescribing program and assigned staff as well as provide psychiatric medication management services in a community setting, performing assessment and treatment, and community outreach to individuals and groups in a culturally competent manner in accordance with best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Psychiatric Prescribing Program Manager will be the primary supervisor of the prescribing team, responsible for working closely with and communicating with the CEO and Chief Clinical officer to assist in building the strategy, policies/procedures, direction, and execution of WBHW prescribing development plans. The Psychiatric Prescribing Program Manager will provide leadership and direction to continually improve and enhance systems and communications between the prescribing staff and the other WBHW teams. Clinical care as psychiatric prescriber will still account for approximately 90% of the Psychiatric Prescribing Program Manager’s work duties. 


The Psychiatric Prescribing Program Manager is responsible for both the productivity of the prescribing team and individual staff members and the quality of care delivered by psychiatric providers. Responsibilities include supervision of providers and medical assistants/LPN for training, disciplinary action, team morale, culture, ensuring quality of documentation and treatment planning, approving timecards each pay period, managing requests for time off, and conducting Performance Evaluations for staff. The director will assure that all staff are appropriately trained on an ongoing basis and act as a role model of the WBHW Standards of Conduct, in alignment with the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan, both internally and externally as a representative of the leadership team. Attend Leadership Meetings and represent WBHW in Community Meetings as needed.  

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • WA Licensed, Board certified in psychiatry or as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate enthusiasm and trust with clients and coworkers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer proficiency to document in the electronic medical record.
  • Able to meet deadlines in a timely manner including documentation, training, etc.
  • Undergo and pass criminal background check upon initial employment and subsequent checks as required by the agency.
  • Must meet requirements of agency’s drug free workplace policy.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to sit, stand, and move for long hours at a time and lift 25 pounds.
  • A valid driver’s license that meets the requirements to be insured by WBHW insurance agency, and reliable vehicle.
  • Meet the current Washington health care vaccination requirements for health care workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Non-profit background.
  • Background in rural behavioral health
  • PhD
