Summary of Functions:
The Pharmacy Technician supports the Camas Center Clinic Pharmacy by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory and records, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role is integral to patient-centered care, supporting access to medications for tribal members and surrounding community patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting pharmacological services by assembling, stocking and distributing Accurately fill, label, and package prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Enter and process prescriptions in the pharmacy management system (PioneerRx).
- Perform medication synchronization tasks and support MedSync program operations.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and tracking 340B and non-340B medications.
- Manage expired medications, returns, and replenishment workflows, including automated dispensing equipment (e.g., Eyecon).
- Answer telephone inquiries and communicate with providers, patients, and insurance plans as permitted.
- Support pharmacist-led immunization programs and prescription counseling workflows.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations; ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in pharmacy opening, closing, and daily operational routines, including cold chain documentation.
- Assist with maintaining pharmacy logs, controlled substance records, and regulatory documentation as required by WAC 246-945 and RCW 18.64.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Director
Required Qualifications:
- Required: Valid Washington State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
- Preferred: Experience with PioneerRx or similar pharmacy software; experience in tribal health, outpatient, or closed-door settings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently within established procedures.

Other Requirements
- Comply with all applicable privacy laws such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Ability to comply with Mandatory Reporting laws.
- Must qualify for a Tribal Work Permit, including successfully passing Tribal and DOT drug testing and background investigation.
- Current First Aid certification or able to obtain within 6 months of being hired.
- Blood Borne Pathogens Training or able to obtain within 1 month of being hired.
- TB Test or able to obtain within 1 month of being hired.
Work Environment:
- Primarily works in a pharmacy environment with standard counters, equipment, and technology.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Exposure to biohazardous materials (e.g., sharps) and confidential health information.
- Regular schedule aligned with clinic hours; some flexibility may be required for special projects or outreach events.
