Billing Manager - Full Time 
Springfield, IL
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually

Monday through Friday, 8AM - 4PM; No Weekends!


JOB SUMMARY: 

The Billing Manager oversees the billing operations and staff for Hope Clinical Care (HCC). The position is responsible for the development of policies and procedures to ensure accurate submission of insurance claims and maintenance of client accounts.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversee all aspects of the billing cycle, including onboarding, obtaining prior authorizations, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management.
  2. Ensures accurate and compliant billing practices by staying current on coding, insurance, state, and federal policies/guidelines/laws.
  3. Develops and updates billing policies and procedures. Communicates relevant policies and procedures to administrative and clinical staff. 
  4. Supervise and support billing team members, providing training, performance feedback, and workflow improvements.
  5. Assists clinical leadership in the training of clinical staff on billing practices and the use of Central Reach and collaborate as necessary to ensure revenue cycle activities are completed efficiently.
  6. Updates fee schedules, employee and payor claim settings, service codes, authorization templates, modifiers, and other settings in Central Reach.


OTHER FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of individuals as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
  2. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The work is primarily within Hope’s headquarters in Springfield. On occasion, the work may require travel to other TAC or TRH locations. The work may require flexible hours outside of normal business hours.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

TRAINING, ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or Associate’s degree
  2. At least two years of experience in insurance billing
  3. At least one year of experience in a supervisory or management role

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and orally) in a professional manner, with all levels of employees.
  2. Experience with insurance billing, specifically in ABA or behavioral health settings.
  3. Experience with Central Reach or similar ABA practice management software.
  4. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to handle multiple complex tasks or assignments, consistently producing high quality work.
  6. Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.
  7. Must pass a background clearance.
