Job Description


PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Carry out program requirements of any assigned energy and water assistance program, with focus on providing assistance directly to clients and assessing and responding to additional client needs to promote self- sufficiency.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Reason position exists is to perform these functions):

•Attend state program/network meetings as requested by supervisor.

•Be familiar with all energy & water assistance and weatherization programs.

•Maintain excellent records and client files.

•Schedule client intake appointments.

•Conduct energy assistance intake interviews.

•Perform data entry.

•Communicate with utility vendors.

•Ability and experience in working with culturally and ethnically diverse people of all ages, withoutregard to sex, race, religion, or socioeconomic level.

•Ability to work with minimal supervision.

•Ability to work on various tasks simultaneously.

•Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.

•Demonstrate ability to problem solve and make independent decisions.

•Work well with details.

•Maintain good organizational skills.

•Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

•Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABLILITIES:

•Solid understanding of Computers and software. Including, but not limited to OPUS system, Access,Word, Word Perfect, and Excel.

•Good communication skills: Ability to interact with local utility companies, the public, other staff andpartners in a cooperative manner.

•General knowledge of basic accounting procedures.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

•High School Diploma or equivalent required

•One year of paid experience directly related to the Position Description is required

•General understanding of the population we serve

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

•Geographic Area: Curry County

•May have periodic evening, and/or weekend activities

•May lift items up to 51 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.


OTHER:

•License: Current Oregon Driver’s License is required

•Reliable transportation for getting to work

•Proof of automobile liability insurance @100,000/300,000 liability limits and maintain such limits ifusing personal vehicle for ORCCA duties

•Must be free from illegal drugs, may be subject to suspicion testing.

•Must be able to pass the Criminal Background Check.

•Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.

•Able to drive long distance.

•Ability to sit in meeting for as long as four hours at a time.
