Telematics Reporting Specialist
We are seeking a Telematics Reporting Specialist to lead the day-to-day operations of the processing and administration of our telematics reporting policies. In this role, you will oversee the reporting, processing, billing and problem solving for our telematics reporting policies. You will partner with the underwriting, operations and technology teams to identify and implement changes aimed at improving profitability and enhancing customer experience to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Metrics and Reporting – Oversee data integrity and accuracy of monthly reports by identifying discrepancies, analyzing root causes of variances, assessing patterns and trends that contribute to inconsistencies, and resolving inaccuracies prior to billing. (40%)
- Manage and Resolve Mileage and Billing Discrepancies- Monitor and address issues such as unplugged or disconnected telematics units, mileage discrepancies reported by insureds or agent partners, and concerns escalated by the Operations team. This includes troubleshooting downtime, ELD data inconsistencies, and invoicing errors. (20%)
- Collaboration - Act as a liaison between stakeholders, data analysts, and development teams to ensure clear understanding of reporting discrepancies or system issues. Translate technical findings into business-relevant insights, communicate root causes and impacts to key stakeholders, and coordinate with technical teams to drive timely and effective resolution. (20%)
- Telematics Product Improvements - Lead continuous improvement efforts by proactively identifying process gaps, implementing validation tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency. Monitor product performance, ensure data integrity, and drive resolution of quality issues to maintain high standards across all telematics reporting outputs.(15%)
- User Acceptance Testing – Participate in user acceptance testing to review work and ensure features meet quality standards, comply with regulatory guidelines, and address user requirements for monthly reporting products. (5%)

- Leadership – Ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams toward achieving telematics product goals, balancing stakeholder needs with strategic business objectives.
- Strong Communication – Ability to clearly articulate product requirements, gather feedback from diverse teams, and present complex telematics concepts in understandable terms.
- Customer Focus – Deep understanding of user needs, particularly in usage-based insurance scenarios, and capacity to prioritize features that deliver the most customer value.
- Technical Knowledge – Basic understanding of policy administration and telematics technology, including vehicle data collection, hardware sensors, and data analytics tools, to effectively collaborate with development and data science teams.
- Analytical Thinking – Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex telematics data and leverage it for product improvements.
