Job Title: Public Safety Officer – Screening & Lift Line
Department: Public Safety
Reports to: Director of Public Safety
The Public Safety Officer assigned to screening and lift line duties is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests and team members by conducting bag checks, operating metal detectors, and monitoring ski lift lines. This officer serves as a first point of contact for guests, creating a welcoming yet secure environment while enforcing resort rules and regulations. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

How I can Create Guests for Life:
Conduct guest bag checks and operate metal detectors in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
Provide a welcoming presence while ensuring guest and employee safety.
Monitor ski lift lines to support safety, flow, and compliance with resort policies.
Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with team members.
Report safety concerns, suspicious activity, or policy violations to Public Safety leadership.
Maintain confidentiality regarding guest and employee incidents.
Respond calmly and appropriately to guest complaints, conflicts, or safety concerns.
Assist during medical emergencies until additional help arrives.
Complete clear and accurate incident reports when required.
Remain alert and attentive in high-traffic areas to prevent hazards or disturbances.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Is this the job for me:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
6 months of customer service, hospitality, or security-related experience preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and team members in verbal and written form.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle guest interactions professionally.
Ability to stand during entire shift and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as part of safety/security duties.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
